Wed, 16 Jan (Mark 1:35)

Rising very early before dawn, [Jesus] left and went off to a deserted place, where He prayed. Mark 1:35

Devotion snippets: "I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day (from "Morning Offering" prayer). When the dawn comes, I am thankful for the night's sleep, and I pray with hope that I will use the day ahead as a most precious gift of time." by Fr. James McKarns

Joe Hourigan shared this morning prayer: "Jesus, thank you for another day. You are my Lord and my God. Mold me into your image and likeness and help me to love like you love."

LIFE blog devotion comments: Joe Hourigan posted a comment about our experience praying at the abortion clinic (on 12 Jan devotion).

Joe Levisky posted a comment to yesterday's devotion: "It is just as important to talk TO God as it is to talk ABOUT God. Unfortunately, there are many of us that can not recite biblical writers, verses, numbers, etc. in talking ABOUT God. Does that make us less faithful to Him than those who do? I don't think so! In my own private way, I talk TO God, and He talks TO me. He has never not responded. I may not have understood His response at the time, but I know in my heart that He responded. God bless those who can do both: talk TO God and talk ABOUT God! Those are the true leaders that we can count on to help us in our everyday struggles."

LIFE blog prayer requests: The header of our LIFE blog has a link to post prayer requests as a "comment". Carolyn McKissack posted this prayer: "Please pray for the mother of four small children, who were thrown from the Dauphin Island Bridge in Mobile, Alabama. The father has been charged with capital murder. Three of the bodies have been recovered." Let us pray for these families experiencing very real spiritual warfare. Let us strive to integrate daily prayer into our lives...prayer changes things!

LIFE blog admin: Our blog master Rich discovered that only one e-mail can receive automatic notification of comments posted to the blog. As a solution, Rich is going to form a Google group distro. If you want e-mail notification of postings/comments, accept his invitation to the Google group (sending tomorrow). Furthermore, he will send out invitations to separate Google blogs for Sr. Francelle's messages and our prayer requests. A separate prayer request blog will allow us to "post" prayers and use "comments" to update the prayers. The LIFE prayer blog will have a link in the title of the LIFE devotion blog. If you want e-mail notification of postings/comments for the LIFE prayer blog or the Sr. Francelle blog, you will also need to accept the Google group invitation (sending tomorrow). In short, if you only sign up for the blogs (not the groups), you will not get any post/comment notification e-mails. Please sign up (~1 min) for our blogs to add/update a prayer request, comment on a devotion/prayer, and to read postings/comments on the blogs. To sign up for the LIFE devotion blog, please click this link (LIFE blog sign up).

Through Christ Our Lord,
