John 6:35 (Bread of Life)

* Welcome God every morning before work by taking ~5 min to read this Living In Faith Exchange (LIFE) Group devotion (life-devotions.blogspot.com), which has snippets from Living Faith (http://www.livingfaith.com/).

I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst. John 6:35

Living Faith snippets: "Nourished by the "bread of life," the door was opened to love. Jesus, bread of life, feed me." by Amy Welbourn

Pat nuggets:
* Today's verse has me singing the Christian hymn "I Am The Bread Of Life" by S. Suzanne Toolan (words from John 6): "I am the Bread of life, He who comes to Me shall not hunger, He who believes in Me shall not thirst. No one can come to Me, Unless the Father draw him. And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up on the last day. The bread that I will give Is My flesh for the life of the world, And he who eats of this bread, He shall live for ever, He shall live for ever. And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up on the last day. Unless you eat Of the flesh of the Son of Man And drink of His blood, And drink of His blood, You shall not have life within you. And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up on the last day. I am the Resurrection, I am the Life, He who believes in Me Even if he die, He shall live for ever. And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up on the last day. Yes, Lord, we believe That You are the Christ, The Son of God Who has come Into the world. And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up, And I will raise him up on the last day." http://www.preciouslordtakemyhand.com/christianhymns/iamthebreadoflife.html

* While contemplating the song above, I am taken back to last Friday morning when I saw my friend Mark Foster receive the Eucharist for the first time...his reactions demonstrated his faith in the "Bread of Life." Just before receiving the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil (1996), my wife Angi's hands were sweating in anticipation of receiving the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Lord Jesus, may we not lose sight of the awesome gift of your body and blood...which strengthens us as we humbly and joyfully help build the Kingdom of God. Amen!
