1 Cor 13:11 (putting aside childish things)

* Welcome God every morning before your work by taking ~5 min to read this Living In Faith Exchange (LIFE) Group devotion (life-devotions.blogspot.com), which has snippets from Living Faith (livingfaith.com). All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Col. 3:17

When I became a man, I put aside childish things. 1 Cor 13:11

Living Faith snippets: "...but ultimately adulthood lies in grasping the fact that love and service is at the heart of being the person God created you to be." by Kevin Perrotta

Pat nuggets:
* A car ran a red light yesterday (~50 mph) and smashed into the front driver's side of Angi's car (with Paige and Grace)...no serious injuries in either car. At the moment of impact, Angi thought it was the end of her earthly life...and begged God that Paige and Grace would not see her a mess. A witness told me that it was a "horrific collision" and nonverbally implied that I was lucky to have my family intact. I thank God for my family being ok, for the gift of faith, for the Holy Spirit (our helper), and you (the Body of Christ)! The Body of Christ loved us up with emails, phone calls, hugs, tears, and faith perspective...Todd Williamson sent me a story yesterday that reminded me to pray for the man who ran the red light...my brother Joe reminded me that people lose family members everyday in car accidents. Without faith, I don't know how those people could manage. Let us pray for those who suffer from loss of loved ones...and for those who suffer from a lack of faith...

* Deacon Bob Waller and Bill Hourigan shared this important 3 min video on the key Christian issues of the Presidential election: http://www.catholicvote.com/.

* Chad Livingston shared the following in his morning devotion at C-O-U-G-A-R-S Daily: "Is there some way that you can give unexpected and undeserved grace today? Perhaps something that takes someone off guard because it is so freely given? Seek out this way. For it is the way of Jesus."

* 40 Days for Life campaign (24 Sep to 2 Nov): http://www.40daysforlife.com/. Please consider signing up to pray an hour in front your local abortion mill.

* LIFE Runners (LIFER's): A group of 13 LIFE Devotions Group members are going to race the Chicago Marathon on 12 Oct, and we are dedicating our race to ProLife awareness. For those who already sponsored a LIFER for their ProLife charity, thank you for helping us cultivate a culture of life! Addition to ProLife charity list: Tracy Clinton (Elizabeth New Life Center in Dayton, OH: www.elizabethnewlife.org/). So far, 14 LIFE Devotions Group members have contributed a total of $856...Amen!

Our Prayers: Abortion, chastity, our enemies/our troops, natural disasters, depression/ despair, dementia, cancer, prisoners, integrity of our leaders, Mike Castle (for grandson Isaac and his caregivers), strength to live the virtue of chastity, hurricane recovery, Kay Castle (for Nancy Wheeler recovering from chemotherapy)

Faith Quote: Steve Castle shared: "God whispers in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world." - C.S. Lewis

Through Christ Our Lord,

Phil 4:13

* Today's Bible readings at www.usccb.org/nab/today.shtml. Reflection on readings at http://www.daily-meditations.org/index2.html
* Prayer: Prayer connects us with God's will & His miracles, thereby changing us & helping others. Wayne Watson lyrics, “When God's people pray, there is hope reborn, there is sin forgiven, and miracles you can't explain await!” "If you pray that God will move a mountain and He doesn’t, assume Christ wants you to climb it instead & see Him."
* Defend the unborn: 'Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die' (Prov 24:11). 'Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you' (Jer 1:5). 'It is a great poverty that a child must die that you might lie as you wish' Blessed Mother Teresa. Prayer to End Abortion. Ask Blessed Margaret of Castello for her prayers to end abortion.
* Evangelization: Let's make room for non-believers (be a friend, make a friend, lead friend to Christ) and perpetual re-evangelization of self and those near us, by way of daily prayer (relationship) and following Christ's example of selfless love, mercy, and service.
Let's joyfully live out the Good News and gladly tell others about it (Mark 16:15)!

I want to say something full of wisdom...but I can not... God's ways are not our ways. Why were Angi and Paigy and Grace spared their lives when others die?

I don't know the answer... but I do know this, my heart is filled with praise and thanksgiving that they are alive, and that we have another day to tell them how much we love them. God has given us a precious gift.

Thank you Jesus for sending your angels to protect them and for giving us all another day to live and love them. What greater gift is there than life? Love Mom
