Whitney's Reflections: The Lord used and spoke parables to the people because they are easily relatable. They are for us a convection of heart, a warning and a lesson to use in our lives. In today's Gospel, Christ instructs us to be cautious not to get caught in thorns, sin, in our lives. Even though we are sinners, each day we can be made new through confession; the Lord has conquered death. Christ also tells us that in order to survive we must be rooted in faith. We must do as He asks of us. For us to engage in His Commandments, is like planting a seed in a pile of well fertilized soil. The soil will protect us, and it will support us in being strong as we grow. When we are firmly rooted in Christ, we may then help others and show them Christ by our actions. We are able to defend the week and uphold the dignity of Life. We must strive in His truth and love all to help build the body of Christ in Holy Mother Church.
* Whitney Compton just finished serving a year with National Evangelization Team (NET). NET's mission is to challenge young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church. She will now attend Franciscan University in Steubenville (OH) for a Masters in Theology and Christian Ministry.
Faith Challenge: In prayer ask the Lord to give you grace to turn away from temptation, so as to avoid sin daily trials. Sometime this week stop by an abortion clinic and say a short prayer outside. If you are unable to, say a rosary for all unborn children today.
Our Prayers: Prayer to end abortion, Spiritual Adoption, Alpha Center, Peters family (JP). Add Prayers on our website. Pray with meals, bedtime, wake up, LIFE Runners, etc. Consider mid-week Family Rosary (17 min). Let’s pray now.
Feast Day: St Joseph of Barsabas was considered as a replacement for Judas after the Resurrection.
Faith Quote: "Preach the gospel always and when necessary use words." ~ St. Francis of Assisi
Through Christ Our Lord,
Whitney
