Lk 1:42 (Be in His Presence) by David Padilla

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided byLIFE Runners (FB). Upcoming Guest Authors.

“Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb."
~ Lk 1:42 (full readings)

David's Reflections:
In today’s reading, we have the opportunity to reflect on the blessed mystery of ‘The Visitation’. Alleluia and Amen for Mary and Elizabeth’s faith and trust in God to accept the presence of the Holy Spirit. Lord, give us the strength to surrender our will unto you and the courage to be warriors in prayer and action for life...respecting life from the moment of conception to natural death. Let us meditate on the sacred mysteries of the most holy rosary and pray for blessed mother Mary’s intercession for the unborn. May the Lord Jesus protect and save the unborn. Let us pray unceasingly for the grace and mercy of the Holy Spirit for the women, men and families wounded by abortion.

* David Padilla lives and works in Topeka, KS.  He has five children, elementary to college aged. David participated and completed a Cursillo weekend in September and serves the Holy Spirit in various ministries of the church.

Faith Challenge: Stop, acknowledge and give praise for the presence of Our Lord in our daily lives. Be still in the presence of Our Lord.

Saint of the Day: St. Peter Canisius. Renowned as a popular preacher, Peter packed churches with those eager to hear his eloquent proclamation of the gospel. He had great diplomatic ability, often serving as a reconciler between disputing factions. In his letters (filling eight volumes) one finds words of wisdom and counsel to people in all walks of life. At times he wrote unprecedented letters of criticism to leaders of the Church—yet always in the context of a loving, sympathetic concern.

Faith Quote: "Christ is our peace! How fragile is a peace not rooted in the eternal, not based on the sure foundation of God's law and love." ~ Blessed John Paul II

Through Christ Our Lord,
David

* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion reality…#1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Mt 28:19.
