Mon, 21 Jan (Mark 2:22)‏

Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins. Mark 2:22

Devotion (snippets): "This year I resolve to make a new wineskin of gratitude. I want to store the wine of trust within memories of grace: countless times of simple goodness and breakthrough moments of peace, forgiveness, unexpected love." by Patricia Livingston

New blog comments (snippets): "Today is the 100 year anniversary of the prayer for Christian unity. In 1908 at Graymoor in Garrison, New York, the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Atonement held the first Church Unity Octave and have prayed for Christian unity, "without ceasing (1 Thes. 5-17)," ever since. Today, Christians around the world celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity together, with the encouragement of the World Council of Churches' Faith and Order Commission and the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. Our LIFE Blog is a good example of the spirit for Christian unity. A group composed of Catholics and Protestants coming together, not focusing on our differences, but in our similarities - faith in Christ. For more information about the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2008, please visit http://www.weekofprayer2008.org/index.html." (Rich, 20 Jan devotion)

"I read a book about Mother Theresa called "A Simple Path". The secret to her commitment to serve others was to see God in them. Mother Theresa said, "How can you love God whom you do not see, if you do not love your neighbor whom you see, whom you touch, with whom you live?” She also said, "To be able to love one another, we must pray much, for prayer gives a clean heart and a clean heart can see God in our neighbor. Let's pray that God will open the eyes of our hearts so that we may see Christ in others and reach out to them. Amen." (Rich, 19 Jan devotion).

"I bought 50 ten-week baby models to hand out when appropriate...for proper perspective on the reality of the children being killed through abortion. If you live in C. Springs, I would be happy to give you one for your own ministry. Order at http://resources.family.org.xn--6aa/With the upcoming elections, I bought license plate holders that say, "I Vote Pro-Life." Order at: http://www.mainstreetshirt.com/" (Pat, 12 Jan devotion).
