Rich's Reflections: During Jacob's travels, he came upon a pagan shrine. There he went to sleep using one of the stones from the shrine as a pillow. Then he had a dream in which he met God and was provided a special revelation. When Jacob awoke, he anointed the stone with oil and named the site Bethel, which means "the house of God." God is present everywhere, but sometimes it is difficult for people to recognize His presence amidst life's turmoils and tragedies. The Lord wants us to make many Bethels in our lives; places where others can witness God's love, forgiveness, and healing. Show God's presence in your home, in your interactions with others at work, and in your community. Lord, may I make Your presence known to others by sharing Your love, forgiveness, and healing. Amen.
