1 John 2:4-5 (The Time is Now) by Sheri Krotzer

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided byLIFE Runners (FB). Upcoming Guest Authors.

The way we may be sure that we know Jesus is to keep His commandments. Whoever says, "I know Him," but does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, the love of God is truly perfected in him.” 1 John 2:4-5 (full readings)

Sheri's Reflections:
The time is now. God is calling us to take action and keep His commandments. God has graced us with the knowledge and wisdom to discern what is true, right and good. It is not an easy task to step out from the norm and stand for the sacredness and dignity of the human person. As Christians, God has blessed us with the fullness of truth and given us the tools to understand. We must follow our Blessed Mother Mary’s example. She experienced an actual unplanned (for her) pregnancy but with faithfulness in God, she said yes. This is our time to defend the most defenseless among us. God came to us as a meek and humble child. So must we humble ourselves to embrace this task set before us. God has given us all that we need, it is now our time to say yes.

Faith Challenge: Discern where you spend your time with the gifts God has given you. Is there something in your life that is taking time away from where God is truly calling you? Ask God what He desires for you. What is your role in defending His children? After praying and contemplating this, take action. Do not waste the knowledge, talent and wisdom God has bestowed on you.
