Luke 2:35 (Pierced Her Heart)

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Guest Authors schedule. LIFE Minute radio.

"...and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed." ~ Luke 2:35 (full readings)

Rosemary's Reflections: As an athlete, I'm very familiar with the phrase, "That which doesn't kill us only makes us stronger." This mainly refers to the pain we endure for our sports. What Simeon said to Mary at the temple was preparing her for the pain she would endure by watching her Son suffer and die. Where some would succumb to despair, Mary steps up to the foot of the cross to be our Mother and hear our prayers. Because of this pain, Mary can hear the hearts of the unborn crying out to her. With each life lost, one must wonder if it feels like another sword has again pierced her heart.
.
Faith Challenge: During the Feast of the Holy Family, let us make our spiritual family stronger. Help our dear Mother by praying for our unborn brothers and sisters.
