John 20:14 (Recognizing Jesus)

Welcome God today with this LIFE Group Devotion (archive, Facebook).

When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. John 20:14 (full readings)

Rich's thoughts: Today's verse made me think about the NEWWORLDSON lyrics for the song, "There is a Way": What if love became a man, if the word had flesh and bone. Would you recognize His face if He came to bring you home? Thousands of years ago, Jesus did walk on this Earth as flesh and bone. Today He lives in each of us as the Holy Spirit. But what if Jesus walked amongst us once again as His own flesh and blood. Would we recognize Him, or would we be too busy and just pass Him by? Lord, help me to slow down and open my eyes so that I may recognize Your presence. Amen.

Faith challenge: Think about where you would most likely find Jesus (e.g., the poor, the hungry, the sick, and the homeless).
