Matthew 9:2 (paralyzing sin)

Welcome God today with this LIFE Group devotion (archive, Facebook). Prove yourselves doers of the Word, and not merely hearers. James 1:22

Courage, child, your sins are forgiven. Matthew 9:2 (full readings)

Rich's thoughts: In the Gospel reading today, Jesus healed a paralytic. Not only did he heal the man's physical afflictions, but more importantly, He healed the man's spiritual paralysis by forgiving his sins. Sin is paralyzing. It stifles us and hinders us from being all that God intended us to be, but the Lord Jesus frees us from our imprisoning paralysis and gives us the power to "rise and walk." We need only to have the courage to ask for God's forgiveness. Holy Spirit, please offer me the courage to ask God for forgiveness for my sins. Amen.
