2 Timothy 1:5 (unified March for Life!)

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (website, Facebook).

"I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and that I am confident lives also in you." 2 Tim 1:5 (full readings)

Pat's Reflections: This past Monday was the awesome and unified March for Life, ending at the US Supreme Court building where abortion was legalized in 1973. Like St. Paul did in today's verse, let's remember our parents and grandparents who inspired us to begin marching for Life. The 2011 March for Life theme was, "Thou Shalt Protect the Equal Right to Life of Each Innocent Born and Preborn Human in Existence at Fertilization. No Exception! No Compromise!” This highlights that the right to Life is truly non-negotiable. On my way home from daughter Paige's Upward basketball game on Saturday, I saw a Protestant church sign that said, "It's a Child, not a choice"...agree! We just finished the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. In Sunday's Gospel, St. Paul said, "Is Christ divided?" Of course not! In 1994, after taking Lutheran education classes to better understand my wife Angi's faith background, I was convinced that Martin Luther's 99 issues were resolved...with the exception of the semantical faith/works argument. Faith? Of course! Works? Of course! The ProLife movement is a great source for ecumenism and unification. Pope Benedict said last week, "it is in Christ, the one Head and Lord, that we can become united by the endless power of His grace." The LIFE Group apostolate marches together with the Communion of Saints at the pace of grace...in step with loving all to an unified culture of Life...encouraging all to Cry Out to Jesus!

Faith Challenge: Pray with someone today that is not the same Christian denomination...prayer unites all Christians!

.
Our Prayers: Prayer to end abortion, Alpha Center, Peters family (JP). Add Prayers on our website. Pray with meals, bedtime, wake up, running, etc. Consider a mid-week Family Rosary (17 min). Let’s pray now.

Feast Day: Sts. Timothy and Titus (friends of St. Paul)

Faith Quotes:
* "Everyone who supported slavery was free. Everyone who supports abortion is already born. That's how oppression works." ~ unknown
* “Pregnancy help centers re-humanize women by meeting their immediate needs with a servant heart, by witnessing to the sanctity of human life, by helping them to recapture their self esteem, and by helping moms to recognize the inestimable value of their baby.” ~ Virginia Cline of Heartbeat International

Through Christ our Lord,

* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion reality (images); #1 death cause (23% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Matt 28:19.
