Pat's Reflections: Jeremiah had recently defended the same people who were trying to take his life, and he is feeling like "no good deed goes unpunished." Ever feel that way? When asked by God to bring the Israelites out of Egypt (Exodus 3:9-12), 80 year old Moses replied, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" Ever feel ill equipped for God's calling? Not enough time or money to help? How do you suppose little David felt when God called him to face giant Goliath with a slingshot? Because of his great faith, David trusted that if God called Him, then He would provide sufficient grace...and He did. The life-loving people of America face the Goliath abortion industry that is backed by the Supreme Court and giant budgets, and yet we are gaining ground because, like David, we "come in the name of the Lord Almighty" (1 Sam 17:45).
