Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Guest Authors schedule. LIFE Minute radio.
"I am grateful to Him who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He considered me trustworthy in appointing me to the ministry." ~ 1 Tim 1:12 (full readings)
Rosemary's Reflections: God really does work in mysterious ways that the human mind can’t comprehend. In the first reading, we hear about Paul tell of his calling to spread the Word of God, even though he had persecuted Christians. But God knew He could trust Paul and gave him the grace and mercy he needed to find his faith. You would think God would have chosen someone else, maybe someone who had always been loyal to the faith. But God doesn’t necessarily pick people like we would for a schoolyard game. While we would choose those who were fast and physically fit, God searches the spirit and strengthens the person for what He has called him or her for—just take a look at Moses, David, and even our Blessed Mother, an unwed pregnant teenager. Like a coach brings out the best in his athletes, God will bring out the best in us to fulfill our ministry. As a LIFE Runner, I thank the Lord for giving me the strength to run for such a wonderful cause, to save the lives of the unborn. I actually never thought I was going to be a runner, let alone run a full marathon. Ten years ago, I could barely run two miles. The most exercise I got was carrying my stack of books to and from the library. But somehow God saw me a part of this great team. With the help of friends, teammates, and coaches, I now have many races under my belt that have prepared me to run for Life at the Kansas City Marathon on 15 Oct. He has a great plan for everyone, even when we think things happen “unplanned.” He has a plan for the pregnant mother and her unborn baby. We just need to trust in Christ like He trusts in us.
Faith Challenge: Pray for an increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion reality (images)…#1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize:Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Matt 28:19.
