Luke 19:47-48 (The Power of Words)

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Guest Authors schedule. LIFE Minute radio.

"And every day He was teaching in the temple area. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put Him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on His words." ~ Luke 19:47-48 (full readings)

Rosemary's Reflections: As a writer and former journalist, I understand the power words have on people. Words have the ability to cause riots and chaos, yet can also bring hope and peace. Today's media seems to focus more on what is wrong in our world, leaving people with a sense of despair or bitterness. As Christians, we are called to be bearers of the Good News and help spread its message of hope. As pro-lifers, we need to offer this message to those considering abortions or those working for abortion clinics. We can change a few hearts and save some lives by speaking His words, the words people continue to cling to so dearly.

Faith Challenge: What kind of message are you sending others, either by what you say or how you act? Become a bearer of Good News! Pray for Gabriel, the messenger archangel and patron of communication workers, to guide those working in the media to do so as well.

Faith Quote: “I'm hangin' on another day, just to see what you throw my way. And I'm hanging on to the words you say. You said that I will be okay.” ~ Lifehouse "Broken"
