Sun, 17 Feb (2 Timothy 1:8)

* Welcome God every day by reading the Living Faith devotional before work (~1 min). Order at http://www.livingfaith.com/.

Bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God. 2 Timothy 1:8

Devotion snippets: If we want to live an authentic, faith-filled life, we need to proclaim good news to the poor, liberty to prisoners, vision to the blind, liberation to the oppressed, the cancellation of the Third World debt, and the redistribution of the world's resources from the First World nations to the poorer nations, so that everyone on the planet will have food, shelter, health care, education, employment and dignity. This is the work of Jesus. Because we are his followers, it is our work too... By Fr. John Dear, S.J. Transfiguration.

Rich's comments: The laundry list of Christian responsibilities listed in the devotion seems overwhelming. It is tough being a Christian and living an authentic, faith-filled life, but at the same time, it is wonderful being a Christian. We have been given a great gift of strength, strength that comes from God. Lord, give me the strength to do Your will. Amen.

Through Christ Our Lord,
Rich
