Matthew 7:1 (Judge so as to Love)

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB).

"Stop judging, that you may not be judged."
Matthew 7:1 (full readings)

Rich's Reflections: In today's Gospel, we are told not to judge others, or we will have the same verdict passed on us. This however, is not a prohibition against recognizing the faults of others, but against passing judgment in a spirit of arrogance, forgetful of one's own faults. We must not judge the sinner, but we have the responsibility to judge the sin. Judging sin is necessary for loving others, whereas judging people is an obstacle to loving them. The Lord commands us: "If I say to the wicked man, you shall surely die; and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his wicked conduct so that he may live: that wicked man shall die for his sin, but I will hold you responsible for his death" (Ezekiel 3:18). Lord, help me to judge the world the right way; let me judge so as to love. Amen.

Faith Challenge: Hate the sin and not the sinner, and judge so as to love.

* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion reality (images)…#1 death cause (23% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Matt 28:19.
